Pulse-jet collectors clean their filters by firing compressed air through them in sequence. How often and how hard they pulse is decided by the controller, and this has a real effect on performance and running costs.
Timed versus on-demand cleaning
Basic controllers pulse on a fixed timer, whether the filters need it or not. On-demand controllers monitor the pressure drop across the filters and pulse only when it rises above a set point, saving compressed air and reducing filter wear.
Useful features
- Pressure drop display
- Adjustable pulse duration and interval
- Down-time cleaning after the fan stops
- Alarms for high pressure drop or valve faults
- Outputs to a plant control system
Easier maintenance
A clear display of pressure drop and alarm history helps maintenance teams spot problems early and plan filter changes.
